Getting started

Okay, so you are planning to research and develop a Kids Teaching Kids Workshop – welcome to a world of games, experiments, performance, song, dance and art! A Kids Teaching Kids workshop is all about engaging your audience through utilising a number of different presentation techniques. The first thing to do is to register your interest in being part of a Kids Teaching Kids event. Below are some handy documents to help get you started with the workshop: Workshop Development Manual This document is an easy read and gives you an overview of the education philosophies utilised in the Kids Teaching Kids Program and some tips of how to approach the workshop with your students. Workshop Development Timeline - either the one page snap shot or the more detailed month-by-month planner This timeline breaks down the process of developing a student-led workshop with your students. NB. Although this timeline starts in Term 1, you can start to work on your workshop at anytime. Workshop Guide Used in conjunction with the Workshop Development Timeline, this Workshop Guide helps to walk you through the process of developing a workshop; from topic selection to research, to developing public speaking skills to running the actual workshop.
