Melbourne Water Kids Teaching Kids Conference – Photos Galore!

The 2017 Melbourne Water Kids Teaching Kids Conference proved that some things only get better with age! In our 11th year of the conference, the KTK team agree this was our best one yet!

Delegates were treated to a welcome speech from The Hon. Lisa Neville MP (Minister for Water) who was also joined by John Thwaites (Chair of the Melbourne Water Board). Vinnie the platypus made an appearance as well as 3 very talented AFL Women’s players, Elise O’Dea, Karen Paxman and Emma Kearney.

All up we had 503 delegates from 56 schools attend the conference which included schools from all over Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and even some international visitors from New Zealand!

On day 1 there were 4 mainstage performances, 4 videos (we will pop them up on YouTube soon!) and 24 workshops! The Gala Dinner is always a big hit with delegates and this year was no different. We were joined by representatives from many of our conference sponsors in the spectacular Wilson Hall at The University of Melbourne. The night ended with Carranballac College’s rock band, Minor Sensation again providing us with some great tunes so delegates could let loose and have a dance.

The Environmental Project Day was once again held at Collingwood Children’s Farm. Delegates took part in 16 activities provided by schools as well as Melbourne WaterCollingwood Children’s FarmCity West WaterCERES Community Environment ParkLa Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary and Trash Puppets.
