Australia Post
Principal Sponsor of Kids Teaching Kids
Firestarter is proud to announce Australia Post as the principal sponsor of Kids Teaching Kids for the next two years.
This announcement follows a successful pilot sponsorship year in 2009 which saw Australia Post deepen its understanding of the reach, impact and educational outcomes of the teachers and students who participated in the program. By continuing as a sponsor of the program, Australia Post's aim is to reach even more schools and enable many more kids to get involved.
"As a far-reaching national business, Australia Post is actively committed to supporting local communities and building a sustainable future. The Kids Teaching Kids program helps us do that by harnessing the energy of Australia's youth to stimulate fresh ideas to address complex environmental issues," said Nerida Crake, National Manager, Community Investment, Australia Post.
Australia Post recognises Kids Teaching Kids as a unique program which provides hands-on, practical, student-centred learning. The program uses learning styles that combine research, presentations and performance to increase understanding whilst building student resilience and optimism.
"The partnership recognises the importance of schools, community and business working collaboratively to achieve outcomes that help the environment and support youth education." said Nerida Crake.
